Love Cocktail

Do you have any nice plans for Valentine’s Day?

This year, we have decided to stay home and have a romantic candlelit dinner. Luke will cook the main (a Chinese dish) and I will be in charge of pudding – I’ll make a chocolate mousse. For us, chocolate is an essential ingredients of food for romance.

As for drinks, here is a love potion that you might like to prepare for you loved one.

Love Cocktail – serves 2

  • • 75ml lime juice
  • • Juice of 1 pomegranate
  • • 60ml stock syrup
  • • 75ml sloe gin (or vodka or white rum)
  • • Ice cubes

  • 1. Put 2 cocktail glasses in the freezer.
  • 2. In a cocktail shaker, mix the lime juice, pomegranate juice, stock syrup and sloe gin with 6-8 ice cubes. Shake well and strain into the chilled glasses.

To make the stock syrup, place 100g sugar with 100ml water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring until the sugar dissolve. Boil for 2min and then allow to cool before using.

Faire bouillir pendant 2min puis laisser refroidir.

Oh la la! I've just spotted a pomegranate tree down the road from where we are staying in Perth until we get our own house. It's not on anyone's property, so we may just have to do a little sneaky "raid" and make some cocktails!
